Why Your CPAP Mask Feels Uncomfortable and How to Fix It

Feeling like your CPAP mask is a torture device? You are not alone. Many users struggle with comfort at first. I’ve spent nearly a decade in CPAP product development and I’ve seen what makes a mask feel comfortable or awful.

Discomfort often comes from straps digging in, a mask style that does not fit your face, or pressure points pressing on your skin. Loosening straps slightly, adjusting mask placement, and using padded strap covers or mask liners can make a huge difference. Sometimes switching mask types is necessary if one style is not a good match.

Washing headgear weekly, rotating accessories, and experimenting with sleeping positions also improves comfort significantly.

Comfortable CPAP therapy is possible. A few simple adjustments and the right accessories make a huge difference. NightmAir CPAP strap covers are my favorite solution for reducing red marks and improving comfort while wearing your mask.
